This is the current Australian full height telephone booth. It evolved from the previous flat roofed design and was designed to be doorless for accessibility (hence the full width opening). It typically houses the Telstra Smart Payphone. Above- A phonebox that melted in the December 2000 “Black Christmas” bushfires in Cobargo and is now part of the National Museum collection in Canberra. Below- Phone Box artwork by Megan Hales.
