CROSLEY Novelty Reproductions Payphone

Crosley novelty reproduction payphones are modern decorative telephones styled after early coin-operated wall sets. Produced from the 1990s onward by Crosley Radio Corporation, they feature non-functional coin slots and contain no coin mechanisms. Designed for home décor, they operate as standard tone telephones and were never intended for public payphone service.

Development of the CROSLEY Novelty Reproductions Payphone

Crosley “payphones” are modern novelty reproduction telephones styled to resemble early 20th-century coin-operated pay stations. Manufactured by Crosley Radio Corporation from the 1990s onward, these units are decorative retro phones rather than true public payphones. Although they feature coin slots, the slots are non-functional and no internal coin mechanism exists. They operate as standard tone telephones and were marketed for home décor, not commercial public telephone service.
