IRISH Payphones and Booths
Irish public telephones reflected Ireland’s changing political and economic history. Originating under British administration, early services followed British Post Office practice. After independence, Ireland developed its own network, later operated by Telecom Éireann and Eircom. Modern coin and card payphones appeared as Ireland increasingly integrated with Europe and joined the European Union.
